How to get ChatGPT to recommend you as a realtor in your city
How to get ChatGPT to recommend you as a realtor in your city: answer the buyer’s exact question on a page you control, make the profiles match, and do not pay for a promise no assistant sells.
What “get ChatGPT to recommend you” can and cannot mean
How to get ChatGPT to recommend you as a realtor in your city means making a public page that a buyer question can quote: your name, the city, the brokerage, and the work you do, with the same facts on the profiles people already open. It does not mean a setting, a keyword, or a fee that inserts you into the answer. ChatGPT does not offer that product. Anyone who sells it is selling something the platform does not sell.
How we know: Does AI Pick Me runs real scans that ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini local buyer questions. The score is the average of the answers that came back. If an assistant does not answer, that question is left out of the average and is not counted as a miss. A scan is not a ranking, and it does not place your name in any assistant. Does AI Pick Me is not affiliated with OpenAI, Google, or Perplexity.
Use the questions a buyer actually types
Does AI Pick Me does not invent a secret prompt list for agents. The free check and the report use the questions below, with your city, your region, and, on the paid questions, your name. Read them as the test, then write a page that would be a fair answer to each one.
| Question | Where it runs | Price |
|---|---|---|
| best real estate agent in [city] | Free check | $0 |
| who should I hire to sell my home in [region or city] | Free check | $0 |
| top buyer’s agent in [city] | Free check | $0 |
| [Your name] realtor reviews | Report | $49 once, for the whole report |
| is [Your name] a good real estate agent in [city]? | Report | Included in the $49 |
| who should I hire as a buyer’s agent in [city]? | Report | Included in the $49 |
| best real estate agent at [brokerage] in [city], or a trusted-agent question if the brokerage text contains your name | Report | Included in the $49 |
Write the page the unbranded questions need
The first three questions never say your name. Your page still has to, because the answer has to. The city has to be there because the question includes it. The kind of work has to be there because one question is about selling and another is about buying.
- Put a quotable sentence at the top. Name, brokerage, city, and whether you work with buyers, sellers, or both. If you only do one of those, do not claim both. An assistant that repeats a false sentence is not a win.
- Add the region in a second sentence if you really cover it. The sell-side question uses the region when we have one, such as the Inland Empire for a Redlands check. A page that only says the region and never the city is a weak match for “best agent in [city].” Use both, when both are true.
- Say how a stranger hires you. A phone number and a sentence about the first conversation are enough. “Call for a custom plan” with no phone in text is not enough.
- Keep listing copy off the homepage hero. A carousel of houses does not answer who you are. Put the bio in text above or beside it. Write that bio from facts you can prove, and edit it until it is yours.
Make the profiles agree with that sentence
- Google Business Profile. One spelling of your name, the city, a phone, hours if you publish them, and a photo of you. Put the city in the description. This is the first fix on our realtor list for a reason: it is a public page with your name on it.
- Zillow and Realtor.com. Same name, same brokerage, same city. Fill the about section. If your site says you left a brokerage last year, update the portals the same day. Old brokerage names are how two “different” agents get created out of one person.
- The brokerage’s own agent page. If the report asks for the best agent at your brokerage, that page is part of the public record. Ask the brokerage to use the same name and city. You may not control the template. You can still send the correct spelling.
- One phone number. If marketing uses a tracking number, keep a canonical number on the site and the profiles so a person and an assistant can find a stable line.
Reviews that mention the city
The report asks a reviews question with your name in it. That question can only go well if reviews exist and say something specific. It can also go badly if the reviews are thin or if they describe a different city. Do the unglamorous version.
- Ask recent clients, in your own words. Request a Google or Zillow review that mentions the city and the kind of move, written by them. Do not offer money, a fee cut, or a script.
- Reply without adding claims. Thank them and, if you mention the city, mention the one they already used. Do not upgrade a review into a superlative they did not say.
- Do not put a star rating in schema unless the page shows it. Our schema fix says this plainly. A JSON-LD rating that a person cannot see on the page is a fact you invented in code. Leave it out.
Schema and llms.txt come after the words
RealEstateAgent schema should repeat the name, the city, and the brokerage that a person can already read. llms.txt should link the about page, the city page, and the contact page. Both are on the fix list. Neither one compensates for a homepage that never says where you work. llms.txt for a local business
- Add the FAQ in public, then mark it up. Use the buyer questions from the table as the questions, and answer them in two or three sentences that are true for you. FAQ schema only for those visible pairs.
- Publish the file when the links are real. An llms.txt that points at a coming-soon page is a map to nowhere. Wait until the city page exists.
- Re-read the page as if you did not know yourself. If the first screen does not say the city, the unbranded questions have nothing to quote. Design can wait. The sentence cannot.
What you cannot buy
OpenAI does not list a realtor placement on the ChatGPT Plus help page. Plus is $20 a month for the person using ChatGPT. It is not your advertising. Our $49 report is a reading of answers, and the page says there is no guaranteed placement. If a pitch includes a date by which ChatGPT will name you, ask them which product OpenAI sold them. There is not one.
Which fits you
- You have never asked the unbranded question. Do it today in ChatGPT, and also in Perplexity and Gemini. Or use the free check so the three runs are stored together. Write down the names.
- You were absent, and the first paragraph is a slogan. Rewrite that paragraph before you buy anything else. Then align the Google and Zillow profiles. Then consider the $49 report for the branded questions and the written fixes.
- You want paste-ready text. Write the bio, the FAQ, and the schema from facts you can prove. It is still your job to correct them. Publishing a bio that overstates your work is worse than a short true sentence.
- You want a subscription that “does GEO.” A monthly monitor can log prompts. It still cannot place you. If you buy one, keep the unbranded city question in the set, and keep Gemini in the model list if that assistant matters to your buyers.
FAQ
How do I get ChatGPT to recommend me in my city?
Publish a page that states your name, brokerage, and city in the first paragraph, make your Google and portal profiles match it, and ask for reviews that mention the city without scripting them. Then test the unbranded buyer questions. There is no switch inside ChatGPT that adds a realtor to other people’s answers.
Does the free check use my name?
No. The three free questions are about the city and the job, not about you, and that is intentional. The $49 report adds questions that include your name, including a reviews question, because being found when a stranger does not know you is the harder test and it is the free one.
What if my brokerage name contains my name?
The report avoids a brokerage question that would accidentally include you. If the brokerage string contains the agent’s name, the question becomes a trusted-agent question for the region or city instead. That rule is in the product so a branded accident is not scored as discovery.
How long should I wait after editing the page?
We cannot give you a number of days, because assistants do not publish a clock for when a new paragraph is eligible to be quoted. Change the page, keep the date in a note, and run the questions again later so you can compare the two logs. A single edit is not a guarantee of a new answer.
